I work as a general manager for a 400 room hotel in the midwest and have for almost three years now. Previously I was a F & B manager and have worked in hotels for over 15 years. I am in good physical shape and was in good health until I took on this job as GM (shortly before 9/11/01). I have had two heart attacks over the last year and I am only 38. My Doctor told me that my heart problems are all "stress related" With the current economic conditions, the set backs in our industry and running a little bit older hotel, I think the stress is killing me. Does anyone else find their job as GM of a hotel as stressful as I find mine or am I all alone here.
